The “you can Make 2 pz4 instead of one tiger” is so dumb because last time I checked you need 2 times more crew and Germany did not have the time to train double the amount of crew or even the manpower to fill the tank anyway

Tiger was good at fending off Sherman tanks but lacked at immobilizing Pershing and jumbo Sherman’s.

The real problem with the tiger tank is they made an armoured bruiser tank yet they left a massive slab of flat metal right where most shots are gonna be going in a one on one. This slab might protect against the American 75 but against the American 76 and the Russian 85 it just gets cut through like butter.

Yeah, but you would also need twice as much fuel and crew for those panzers, and they would not have armour or a gun that was as powerful as the tiger 1. As well as that germany saw the issues with the tiger which is why they made the panther.

If you take the Tiger I just at its specs and ergonomics it actually was decent if not good tank. The problem with the "they could've just made 2 Panzer IVs for each tiger I" is needing twice the number of people to crew them and the ability to produce twice the number shells and spare parts to maintain them as well as transporting them. Not to mention more factories and kidnapped slaves to build the damn things. These were all things Nazi Germany famously lacked, well except for kidnapped slaves of course. The other problem was the Panzer IV being pretty much equivalent to what tanks the allies were using and if you had to shove more untrained farm boys into Panzer IVs well there was a good chance they would've become cannon fodder for the increasingly skilled allied tank crews.

But still the only way it could be took out is if it got tracked and shot in the a$$ and that was rare. The panther was the most successful tank. There's a reason they called the sherman Tommy cooker.

You seem to forget the tiger 1's started in mid 1942, these were made with defence in mind. Not assulting. Talk about the real reasons like break down rate, repairability/parts availability. Crossing wood bridges wouldnt be a concern for those tanks. Other, more cruicial issues at hand tbr

Because it was so bad, most tank aces had their greatest successes on the Tieger 1.

Carius, Wittman, Knipsel, Kerscher, Warmbrun and many more had their majority of kills on the Tieger 1.
The tiger was too complex and needed excessive care, but its combat value was very high.
A main problem was the poor supply situation, hardly any spare parts and little fuel, which made these heavy tanks unprofitable.

Sherman was good because of flexibility and numbers. There was basically a sherman for everything, but the Tiger was a good tank (when it wotked as intended) but yeah, it was weak as hell 600hp engine and too heavy and alot pf engine issues, and not as flexible as sherman tank. But it was feared as hell. It was not terrible but it had its problems.

Germany didn't have a lot oil or manpower like American and Russia. So that's why they product few Tiger tanks than American and Russia.

The tiger 1 was a break through tank, in fact it was better the the t-34 until they produced the t-34-85 and jsu series, the tiger 2 on the other hand was just a waste of materials
