This is the kind of myth that would proliferate when people engage with the game spoiler free. I’m surprised it’s this common given how transparent and publicized Minecraft’s development is.

The myth itself doesn’t even really make sense. If the item you got was really dependent on such a mechanic, what about all the other items you get? Since the vaults always give multiple items.

I play bedrock, and I’ve don’t this a couple dozen times, and it’s worked almost every time, I say almost cause sometimes I don’t time it right, but that’s actually really interesting to know.

Also a tip I just found out for bedrock: if you drown the zombies they will still drop all of the armor - including the diamonds armor and swords plus the trim remains on

Another proof to this is that the list of items to display and list of items to drop AREN'T EVEN CONNECTED. If you want, you can set the display list to show items from mineshaft chests if you really want, it changes nothing about the actual loot

A thing I noticed is that items like the Heavy Core and Notch Apple (And other items tied to the particular loot table) will always be first, so don't wait around expecting a Mace after the first item. Wind Burst I believe will usually come last as well

When I played on one survival server, I was in Trial chambers and there I got 2 heavy cores on 2 keys
