I watched this video awhile ago. It inspired me to do it myself. So I invaded like 5 people in Dukes and flipped that switch. 3 of them killed themselves minutes after activating it. 2 of them were heavily distracted and ran all the way to the source of the noise and attempted to kill me. I never realized how powerful this was. GG.

Another song is played, a certain enemy type reacts to it and attacks the player. The lever is initially pulled by a man-serpent in order to get the other enemies to group up and attack you, somewhat like an alarm.

I don't know about dark wraiths, but out of curiosity, I did the Duke Skip (took me forever to get down...) and beat Seath. I then wanted to see if I could go into the room and I was able to open the doors without the key (going in though because I wasn't imprisoned). I don't know if I could open them before killing Seath though. Never really tested it again.
