Agreeing with the example given and point made. However, if there was a difference between scientific writing and general writing I’d say 1. Scientific writing is more precise and descriptive when it needs to be, dropping in a few more adjectives and choosing a more specific term with a precise meaning over a general one. 2. Good scientific writing will tend to drop the long flow on sentences and connector words favouring brevity and conciseness, saying more with less words.

Write as you speak:
"This experiment was almost ruined by a f-king truck passing by"
Don't write as you speak:
"Please note external disturbances were influencing the results"

Whilst I agree that one should not overcomplicate the text of a study, the example here looks too convenient for the point.

I think that we must also be careful to not oversimplify scientific texts, otherwise we can fall into the trap of letting scientific platforms be used as propaganda articles platforms.

Words have a meaning, studies have a precise point, and people should be encouraged to read studies sentence by sentence and looking up terms that they don't know.

Well, this is pretty much how I do write. What good is communication if the other person cant understand what you are saying?
