My 2023 HW3 Model Y long range is just over a year old. I purchased it for the promise of FSD. I hope V13 comes to HW3 cars or upgrade is offered.

Like you, I have an older Tesla - 2020 M3LR with 21k miles and use FSD every day but can’t really justify the expense of selling it or trading it in on a new one just for HW 4. 😅 Was holding out for bi-directional charging and probably by then HW5. 🤞🏼 They need to continue to support FSD on HW 3 or upgrade us. 👩🏻‍💻

I have HW 3 trial 12.5.4.2 I stopped using due to phantom braking which became dangerous. Except for the PB, FSD was good around town. It will take time to perfect but the foundation is in place. I’ll wait for HW5 before upgrading.

You should reach out to tesla owners Chicago and see if anyone has v13 yet and you can team up with them.

To be clear, Dan O. does NOT have V13 (I know for a fact). I believe he was pointing out a parking issue for Chris' (Dirty Tesla) recent drive. All of the issues being pointed out here are about the final few yards/meters of a drive... and in the release notes for V13, Tesla admits that these final few yards/meters are not solved in V13.2 -- they are still to come. However, I've watched every video for V13 so far, and the confidence (basically zero steering wheel jitter) / level of assertiveness (speeding up to pass on city streets) / earlier lane decisions (0.8 miles before exit on freeways) is FAR superior to V12.5.6.3 (which I have on my AI4 Model 3 Performance). Thank you for these videos... keep up the fight for AI3 updates.

Thank you for your fair comments about FSD not being perfect yet. I find that it’s easy for me to get complacent while using FSD. As you remind us, we do need to stay vigilant while using FSD. That’s more challenging to do as it gets better and better and we are more likely to be more relaxed and comfortable with it and we tend to be more likely to let our guard down

Car payments are stupid. Don't follow the sheep. Pay yourself (and your family) first. Patience pays off big time. Keeping up with the Jone's is why this country is such a mess. V13 will come to HW3 owners eventually. I know it's hard when you have a channel about FSD to be behind the curve. But keep being creative and be the voice of HW3 owners. We know only a small % of Teslas on the road are HW4 so you have a lot of company! Thanks for all your content.

Version 12 and 13 are not equivalents. While the particular cases are legitimate, it's becoming increasingly harder to find critical disengagements. It's easy to see the pathway to better than human in 6-8 months.

I did a trade in request yesterday for my M3 2023 AI3 and found that my payments will be the same with getting a new AI4 M3 so I pulled the trigger! I'm picking up in Chicago in the next couple weeks, if V13 goes wide by then I'm happy to let you film ♥️

Best scenario is free upgrade to HW4 from HW3. Secondary is paid upgrade to HW4. Worst case is the end of V12.xx or V13 lite.

My issue is with the people stating "just buy a new car" when I literally just got one in 2023. And now they're worth basically nothing now, which isn't an issue but I just would like more transparency from Tesla. Elmo saying "we're going to look at HW3, if we can't do FSD on it" in a event interview isn't anything official imo.

At the end of the day people will vote with their wallets. When you purchase a promise and said promise isn't delivered, there's a break in trust. People will think twice of buying FSD or Tesla given the track record of HW/AI3 since April. The gap in capability right now is huge. It's especially noticeable when you get used to FSD on HW/AI4 and then go back to a HW/AI3 vehicle and it does so many things just "wrong". The highway stack still being on V11 is a real big issue because that code is only marginally better than Navigate on Autopilot.

And now Tesla has just started a limited release of 12.6 to MW3 cars (only Model S and X for now). Though it's anyone's guess as to whether Tesla is still holding on to hope that HW3 will eventually be fit for Robotaxi service, or whether they're just trying to placate HW3 owners until an upgrade can be developed.
