I was just in that area a couple of weeks ago. My friend and I took a little road trip and we left from Reno. We drove through some of the burn areas from LAST year. I am SOOOO tired of this. Just a shame. We need to plant a whole bunch of trees.

I just drove back from the Bay Area yesterday and toing from Truckee to Reno, there was a huge fire there some years ago. I noticed the hillside was covered with new trees. I certainly will not live to see them to maturity, but my brother's grand kids probably will. It was good to see that.

When we moved to San Diego from NorCal full-time 8 years ago, we were worried about potentially moving to wildfire country and being affected by smoke. Since then, we've had zero significant fires in our region and a few in the greater SoCal region but virtually no smoke impact and ironically realized we left what has since become Wildfire Central. So sad to see the constant NorCal fires while we go relatively unscathed in the south. 😢

We had weird storms roll through late yesterday in Dorris east of McKinney and it couldn't have been much more than 3 1/2 hours later the smoke got here must have been lightning over there. We had gusts of 50 miles an hour.

I thought they said it was only 10 acres yesterday, so in one day, it grew to 30, 000. That’s fast. They couldn’t contain it at 10 acres?
