The 2022 Ironman National was an exciting one with more intense battles at the front of the 450 class between Chase Sexton and Eli Tomac and MXA's Josh Mosiman is excited to go racing with in the big leagues once more this Saturday at the Pala Pro Motocross season finale. Plus, we just released our Factory KX250 versus stock KX250 video this week and, behind the scenes during that test day was four different test riders who weren't showcased in the original video. In This Week in MXA Episode 88, presented by O'Neal Racing, we cover the Ironman National, and we hear from MXA test riders Daryl Ecklund, Josh Fout, Ezra Lewis and Michael Delfante about their experience on Jo Shimoda's factory Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX250 race bike.

Awesome Mitch lets you guys use their bikes! Would be cool to see what a first generation factory 4 stroke bike (Maybe an 04-06) feels like compared to new generation showroom bike.

NOT an average JO bike!
Thanks Josh, enjoyed
Good luck at Fox raceway this weekend. You have ridden there a lot so you may stay on the lead lap. Will be watching! MXA

No way I could handle a factory 450, and I've been riding my whole life, 45+ years...but, others have pointed out that perfectly sorted suspension and engine character might actually help. Yes, please 👍😁

I could barely handle a stock 450 at REM back in the day! Great job on the video Josh

Yoooo, love the channel but I have unsolicited advice:
I have no prob just clicking through to the video, but you would get more views on it & positive algorithm sentiment if you added a link to the factory bike video either in a pinned comment, in the description, or in the little *"i"* thing that pops up in the top-right corner of the video when you talk about it.

I had a Kawasaki KX 125 that was owned by a former Procircuit rider. That bike was significantly quicker and faster than my modded KX 125. That bike hurt me a few times… it was so fun to ride though.

I had Gared Steinke's 2013 Kx250f last year and rebuilt the motor with all new pro circuit goodies and a 270 kit and it was a hoot. But totally the opposite power curve of this bike, was a bottom end monster for a 250f

Getting on point u can have a nice conversation with mitch when u get time about 70s 80s 90s bikes an how good the modern bikes are...they are what we been yerning for affordable works bikes hence the deal at 8 grand...i worked for a team like mitch's on th eastcoast..an had the joy of getting the national pro bikes one after the other...before i go on bacj when John Dowd (dont say whoo)inherited an earn a team ysmaha rider when Doug got injured...he didnt have the factory bike to practice on he made special days to practice on it an said it was so fast he could ride it without getting time to get used to it...i had a new 97 kx 250 stock i hated itso i traded it my friend sent it to Mike Laroccos engine guy tom morgan my friend insisted i ride it i really liked it now only trouble was it was so fast twice as fast no probably more...i go into a berm turn light it..an it would literally almost shoot out from under me...so this is what Dowd was talking about...John Dowd was leading the 250cc national points ....i was on my way to turning pro mainly to ride supercross...i started my race career with a 1986 CR250 works bike so i was used to engines that came on like jet engines...also owned a 1981 YZ 490...dont ask me why it was better at wheelys then a modern 450...the kids who came to by it were so scared of it i ended up riding it for the last time...the Tom Morgan Factory connection motor was the works motor but u needed to be in the best shape of ur life to ride it...i was before my car accident not after....

Today modern 4 stroke are race ready...that was not the case for 30 years....from the 70s up....u can take a 4 stroke right to a national an get a decent finish...i would get 2 holeshots an 2 decent finishes its such a good bike just how good it gets traction compared to 2 stroke junk back in the days...i was watching a clip of the 2 stroke champianships...when the bikes left the line they looked great at ST hellen raceway...as soon as they made the first turn i laughed i saw dirt flying backward torwards the turn but the bikes looked like they werent moving in speed comparison to a 4 stroke race...i love my 2 strokes i had the best one the 1986 honda CR 250 R had a quick warning pop down low great low to mid range and that great honda power..its power band was identical to the modern 4 stroke they dont spin too fast down low allowing the rear tire a chance to grab dirt..before spinning hard an fast...that factor was something works an factory bikes use have that no stock bike could match...the factory bikes were 5 times better than stock...most expert could handle the truth that the bike was way fast...plus once under way it was easier to ride...just more suitable for going fast...if u were ready....are u ready...thanks My dad was very good friend with the art director for MXA in the 70s when petersons bought the mag...my dad drive Dave all the way to california so he could continue his work for MXA....peace yall so i got a few magazines as a thank you for my dad helping out...

The Season Finally should be held at Glen Helen! I boycott going to the Nationals just because of the bull crap MX Sports does to prevent Glen Helen from holding a National!

No National should ever be raced on a track built on a flat property! If there are no natural terrain hills the race needs to be on a purely Sandy Loam track.
