Of course when I watch your vid, I immediately thought of Dianna. Respect to you, Joe, for not exploiting her situation for clicks. I realized very recently, when my annual Patrion bill came out, that it's now been a bit over a year that her and her husband have been dealing with this. All the well wishes we can muster, not just for her but for all those going through similar challenges.

I think it was a respectable decision to not mention her in the video because it would feel like exploitation of her situation and popularity.
And if you had mentioned her then I'd expect a list of youtubers, public figures and celebrities who have long covid along with her.
That said, I am now subscribed to her and watching a whole bunch of her videos.
They're really great and her energy and enthusiasm is infectious!

My primary care physician had to retire from her practice because she got a case of long Covid. She is a wonderful doctor and I hope she will recover, but I have no idea about long term prognosis. Please keep these victims in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey Joe! I’ve got ME/CFS myself and let me just tell you seeing people like you who I like and respect talk about these issues at all feels great! It’s a huge issue and it’s still spreading so I would actually love for you to maybe make an entire episode on the topic? I’m sure you’d do your research. There’s a great piece by George monbiot on the terrible history of this illness and it really needs all the attention!

I suffered a form of encephalitis from H1N1 when it went around. Those of us whom have had this forever are thrilled it’s getting attention, it can help more than just long covid.

I’d love to see a full video about CFS/ME/Long Covid, since the grand majority of people just have absolutely no idea what it is. Even in the medical world, doctors don’t know what really causes it or how to treat it.

I’ve had it for 15 years (I’m 29 now) and I’ve been largely ignored by the NHS (UK primary healthcare) because they don’t know what to do. More research and public discourse is so, so welcome.

I've had ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) for about 12 years now. I love Physics Girl, and have been a supporter of her for years. Her and Kyle are amazing - I'm very optimistic about her recovery. I'd LOVE to see you do a video on the whole post-viral illness thing, as it's terrible, affects millions, and has be ignored for possibly centuries.

I didn't really expect you to bring her up but it's nice that you did in this short. I love Physics Girl! I'm really hoping she can return to YouTube someday but she's been fighting long covid for a long time. I finally caught up with her videos a few months ago because somehow, I missed a bunch of them. I would definitely still recommend her channel to anyone who hasn't heard of her yet!

Thanks for shouting her out, Joe. It's been heartbreaking to see her like this for so long. My spouse was affected by covid and got mild CFS and even that has been hard. Can't imagine it being worse.

People would get mad at someone for minding their own business, and then get mad again at you for not minding your own business if you did cover it. True fans are just happy to see you doing your thing, how you wanna do it, on whatever topic you wanna do it on
