I saw an historical documetary that said it was a bit of an exaggeration how much mechanized armor the Wehrmacht used and in reality, a great number of horses were used. Most of our camera footage comes from nazi propaganda films, which liked to exaggerate the high tech weaponry they used. In fact, many of the soldiers were on horses. You can see that in the film. great film.
