I'm favoured, $27K every week! I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless Sonia bless America.

With how expensive human dentists are, I'm sure many of patients suffering with painful teeth would jump at the chance to use the robot dentist if the price was dramatically cheaper.

As a dentist that has practiced for over 20 years, I have to correct the part about how long it takes a human dentist to prep (or drill) on a tooth for a crown. It only takes 5-15 min for a dentist to do the drilling. Modern dental offices can sometimes fabricate the ceramic crown in the office while the patient waits, and complete the entire treatment in one visit. The longest part of the procedure is fabricating the crown, whether it is done in the office or sent to a dental lab.

Complete the procedure to ensure the patient never needs to return for followup work.

The university I went to made the first automatic sheep shearer and let's just say things didn't go to well for the first few volunteers. I would need to know it has some kind of patient discomfort and pain reading sensors. And maybe a panic stop button. I just don't want to accidentally get my mouth turned inside out.

Same, after a few years of debugging, I'd be OK with having my teeth done by a robot.

Also, dog language is posture and movement, not "woof woof". I don't know if that person whose words are mentioned is that clueless or if they are oversimplifying hugely, but of course, if you can't be bothered to learn to communicate naturally with your dog, you can have a computer do it for you. It does make you an inferior dog parent in my book, but it's still better than being completely oblivious.

That robot dentist scares me a bit, but it can't be worse than the dentist who kept looking over his shoulder to watch the TV while he was injecting anesthetic in my gums.

I have considered robotic dentistry, at first human controlled. It's very obvious for the patient to sit up comfortably and the doc not being in an awkward position plus tiny quality cameras that can get anywhere, good light and tiny instruments. If you consider what scales we make chips, the work on and in a single tooth can be ultra precise rather than a clumsy hand with a power drill working blind and then taking a look at the damage. Indeed you can take it a step further and take it home as daily hygiene where a little frame with rails goes around and inspects the surface with extreme precision plus multispectral identification of any microscopic bacterial presense such that cavities and gum disease can never happen. it's not a big function space to examine teeth and gums so it could be fully automated with AI and be flawless as a home device. Little high pressure jets to clean, alternate liquid to disinfect when necessary.
Should cavities happen it's not a big stretch to imagine the home device could microscopically repair it. Put dentists out of business completely.

I love my dentist. She is one of the best in town. Thus she is really hard to get to and also works extended hours in order to serve as many of us as possible.
She is getting some issues with her hands so I will 110% support her getting one such robot, when I am confident that she is the guide, just sitting aside and observing the process.
Just let me have the red button in one hand while the process is ongoing 😈

AI that talks to dogs? This is the future we dreamed of as kids! Your video does an amazing job of breaking down these complex topics in such an engaging way. Great job, Wes!

The problem with dog language is data labeling. RLDF is going to be hard to do.

I'm so excited for broadcom to enter the AI market! I figure that after their (arguably) incompetent takeover of VMware, they're due for a win 👍

A while back I saw how some marine biologist had used AI to try and parse whale communication.

It's not like dogs all speak one language. They are mostly raised in isolation from one another.

Not sure how they are building a fusion plant. All of the current ones around the world are not complete yet, and even when they go live there will be a decade of testing before more are added to the grid.

I have a beagle and their barking is a way of communicating. I think that some people don't understand what "linguistic" means. My dog has many different kind of howls and barks and I know exactly what they mean. To say that is not a way of communicating is simply wrong. There are many ways other beings communicate with each other. And barking too is a way of communication.

I'm going to train my dog to be a dentist then sit back and watch the money pile up.

Interesting to see OpenAI moving into chip manufacturing. I am interested in how much NVidia patent leasing will play into this. I also suspect that Microsoft is more than likely working on a secret project to develop AI chips as well given their push into AI with Windows 11 and Recall.
While typing this thought out, I fully expect in the next 5 years for the new iPhones of that time to contain Apple AI chips.
AI chips will likely be either codependent on traditional CPUs until AI gets so advanced we just end up seeing AI chips completely replace traditional CPUs or a new AI/Traditional CPU hybrid
