I don’t think some people realize this is a break up song. He says “you’re my all and more but I need room to breathe.” Also “Gave my all and more but I need room to be me.” He loves them but he needs to find himself and be on his own without that person that he loves so much even though it kills him

I get goosebumps every time I listen to this masterpiece. I swear, this song isn’t just a song. It brings so many emotions with it, so many feelings. It makes me almost cry literally every time. Lauv is such an underrated talent, his voice is incredible I can’t handle this. Just wanted to say that.

I am going through this exact situation...this song is helping convince me that leaving is the right thing to do. I love my boyfriend...more than anything. We both love each other, but we aren't right for each other. He is my first everything, and we've been together for years, but love doesn't always equal happiness and we are both learning the hard way. Thank you, Lauv, for such a powerful track that resonates with so many people like me in this situation. I am eternally grateful for the release of emotion this brings out in me, and the push I needed to do what's best for both my boyfriend and I.

These lyrics got me in tears. It's about how he likes her but he has to leave because he needs space to breath and be him and she deserves better ughhhh so sad

I wish I knew this song when I need it. It's exactly how I felt. Breaking up with someone is super hard especially when you're head over heels for this specific person but can't love them the way you want due to self love. I never loved myself and I wish he understood that in order to love someone else, I'd need to love myself first. I really kept it in for about 3 months and thought it was time for ME to breathe. So, I told him but he really never understood why I broke up with him. I tried so hard to explain the way I felt and it resulted into a messy breakup. I really needed to focus a little on me more and I'm glad I did because I've finally found the kind of love i was looking for, self love. But this song makes me miss him a tad bit more :')
