Most people think that the FBI is a law enforcement agency. Prior to 9/11, this would be correct. Today's FBI is a domestic intelligence gathering agency and a law enforcement agency rolled into one. This requires a different type of applicant/agent, different training to accomplish a mission that largely seeks to prevent crimes of terror from happening.
