What's your opinion? Will the big Elephant survive?

I find this particular video to be a bit biased, and based on frustration, some hard facts are missing, considering that all the evernote flaws you mention are from power users, strictly speaking it's still a good notes app that works, but It's a bit pretentious to conclude that because of 3 features the app is dying, I like your content but I think there's a bit of bias here

I guess this is why they decided to sell Evernote to an Italian company. I'm an Evernote user, I'm trying to find a good alternative but nothing is better than Evernote on note taking. Notion is just a mess of a lot of things that aren't useful. I'm still trying to give it a chance but is not for me. Click up is not the same as Evernote so...

Bending Spoons are the leading AI specialists for app development, Evernote is in interesting hands.

Thank you. Interesting appraisal.I still love Evernote (Legacy) and as a paid subscriber all I want is to find my notes quickly and efficiently when I need them. I am starting to use Tags a lot more
as they speed up the search procedure.

Interesting opinion, I doubt if Evernote will die as they have hardcore users with tons of data and without alternatives to migrate to. At the moment there is no real competitor to Evernote from the point of features, and the only app that integrates with millions of other apps. As Tiago Forte twitted;
• Roam is a religion
• Obsidian is a side hobby
• Logseq is an open-source project
• Tana is barely in alpha
Evernote users have no place to migrate to

ClickUp is definitely not the first contender on my list to replace Evernote, but I agree that Evernote's time is over. I've used it for ages, switched to other apps 3 times and went back to Evernote each of those 3 times. Now they have raised the price higher than an entire Microsoft Office subscription. No way. I still like the simplicity of Evernote and its excellent search - two very important aspects most other vendors don't understand ... and the web clipper (don't laugh) is one of the most-used pieces of software in my universe. ... I don't have a great replacement for Evernote yet, but a decent one. And still looking for the great alternative.

I use Evernote as a reliable dinosaur for keeping scanned documents. Evernote is my " go to" solution for my older relatives. Using folders, your phone to scan documents, etc has been something extremely easy to grasp for the older people. Thanks Tom for another great video.

How can I change and export my notes from Evernote to ClickUp. The click-up customer support bot does not come up with a solution

I've looked at other note-taking apps, but none of them have all of the features that Evernote offers. As a result, I think Evernote still has a space in the productivity marketplace.

They added backlinks earlier this month, along with the ability to insert a note within a note. Their earlier addition of tasks and repeating tasks told me that they are growing from a note-taking app to a productivity app.

You are accurate in your assessment of Ian Small's response to tags and your other suggestions. It seems like Evernote ignores their professional customers and spend time creating features that few users find helpful.

I hope Bending Spoons takes Evernote to the next level. If not, I will be forced to find another productivity app.

@Evernote dying??? I'm not sure about that. What I will say is they need better social media presence. I've been using them for over 10yrs. I'm sick of being bombarded by notion content. I think most people only use notion is because of a content creator. I still think Notion is to complicated. Also Evernote needs to make task a lot stronger.

Evernote dying? Dude, what?
Evernote has a huuuge user base.
And like Tiago Forte says, he'd rather use a mature product that has been developed for at least 5 years.
A few years ago, I switched to OneNote and soon came to regret that decision. I had so many sync issues and came to dislike the terrible search function. Evernote's search is amazing.
So, I'm back to Evernote and I'm not worried about it dying anytime soon.
Not everyone needs EVERY feature. You act like every app can be on the cutting edge all the time.
But that's not how software development works. Just look at the clunky mess ClickUp has become.
C'mon, man.

A serious problem that I see in it now is wanting to be several things at the same time, a new client that starts testing in the free version does not have access to anything that has in that new interface. In the past you opened it and had everything you needed to work with, I started at the beginning and used it so much for free that I signed up for a few years, but now there are so many unnecessary functions that I get lost there. The initial idea was lost and it became a do-it-all for little things and you have to pay for very simple things, a very high price for things that are free elsewhere.

After the current price increase, the probability that the green elephant will really die has increased. Especially since Craft has at the same time removed the limitations in the free version and has thus become very interesting...

I use Acrobat to make a pdf searchable so I put it in a note on the Apple Note, it works very well, I can find texts without problems.

I lived on Evernote for over 10 years, and after they started removing features from the desktop and web versions, I decided its time to move on. The new web version was a disaster... I switched to Notion and have never looked back.

I think that they just need to polish the way to add “the links and and back links “ such as type + or [] and the system will pop up the related notes . Make it easier to link the notes without clicking “the add button and search for the note”.
They need to see how backlinks systems on apps like Obsidian, Notion and Roam research work then just copy them.

The question is: what to do with all the notes already on Evernote and how to move them in bulk to a better app?

Well, it's not a first time when Evernote is gonna die. Productivity influencers announce it dies every two-three years but Evernote is still alive that's why I'm afraid but not so much.
BUT, if Evernote will be really dead then (let me be honest) @paperlessmovement has no more sense. Think of it, we collect our knowledge for years to use it in future and at the end of the day mature software like Evernote closes bussines. That means our digital knowledge is not safe and we have to switch btwn apps which are not compatible to each other in most cases and THAT means, paper wins.
