I definitely thought it made sense that Luke would show up. In the overall story it fits in perfectly and Mando and Grogu still get their moment together once Luke steps into the room

Okay, I'm gonna defend the "Did you lose anyone?". The dude was emotionally manipulating her. It was basically a rhetorical question. He wanted to remind her why she fought against the Empire.

Is the audio kind of quiet for other folks? My volume is at roughly double what it normally is.

Surely ‘where is Thrawn?’ is way more organic than ‘where is he?’
It’s fan service that makes sense in the context of the world they’re in

"There's a reason we don't eat birthday cake every day."

"Stuff my mouth full of cake, mouse daddy!"

"Their shared love of murder."

"Grogu."

Even though I was surprised by it, it does seem like Luke would realistically be the most likely person to show up for Grogu, considering the time period.

I think we’re so used to bad fan service that when we see an old favourite show up we think it’s fan service. Luke isn’t fan service it’s a character who would show up in that moment.

I honestly kinda feel like the critisms of the Thrawn name-drop comes from this need to have a hot contrarian take. If none of us had ever heard of Thrawn it would just be a cool "oh i wonder who Thrawn is!" Think about Marcellus Wallace in pulp fiction, we don't meet him for a long time but the conversation two characters have about him communicated his importance. That is exactly how people talk, when you ask your friend where one of your other friends is you don't say "where is he" and to have Ashoka say a line like that would have just been cheap fan baiting in my opinion. Love your guys stuff a lot.

It wasn't "Where is Thrawn (fan favorite character fro the EU)?"

It was "Where is Thrawn (canon character from Rebels and 3 canon novels)?"

Mando: What's that you're holding?

I didn’t know there was such a sizable group who despise seeing Luke in ANY positive light.

The ice spiders were so cool! And if you listen you can hear the ice webs shattering when Din breaks them

The CGI on Luke was bad, but idk his being there just didn’t take away from the emotional punch of the scene for me. I thought it was great
