I can’t believe I used to watch honest trailers without the commentary

Coruscant was added in 1997 which was before the Phantom Menace, although the fans already knew the planet from the books. But yes, for normal people that was a weird adition.

Naboo was added later in 2004 for the DVDs. Along Hyden Christensen. That was released between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The shot of the celebration is a reversed shot of the Phantom Menace with people added to the streets and rooftops.

The battle of Endor II during the finale light saber duel is the most epic moment of the movie

Jedi is probably my fourth favorite Star Wars Movie, but the Luke/Vader/Emperor confrontation is my favorite scene in any of the movies. Luke just losing all pretense and whaling at Vader being my favorite single moment in all of Star Wars up to this point.

So glad I'm not alone having ROTJ as my fave.

19:24 Go back and watch New Hope again and really LOOK at what people are wearing and you'll see "random Jedi" everywhere for the first quarter of the movie, including freaking Uncle Owen. When Lucas started making Phantom Menace he decided that the audience was too dumb to recognize a Jedi unless they dressed like Alec Guinness from ANH, so he decided that was their official uniform. The problem is that Alec Guinness in ANH is just dressed like "a person who lives on Tattooine". This also explains the "why is this Jedi in hiding still dressing like a Jedi?" plot hole. He's not dressed like a Jedi, he's dressed like a desert hermit. The real question should be "Why do all Jedi dress like they grew up on Tattooine?"

The celebration scenes on Coruscant, Tattooine, and Bespin before the Ewok party were added in the VHS special edition, but the scene on Naboo was added for the DVD edition.

+Dan Murrell, great pull with that Star Trek V reference! And the timing of how long the "special edition"s have been with us. Should have explained the "despecialized editions" +SpencerJGilbert with the six word title.

Regarding the guy surrendering who was dressed as a stormtrooper -- the one scout trooper that the Rebels captured (@ the bunker, after Wicket's buddy flew off on a speeder bike) was actually stripped of his armor. You saw then saw the rebel commando in the background pretending the stand guard (as a stormtrooper) when Han and part of the team entered the bunker.

The original theatrical of Return of the Jedi is great. The Sarlacc pit, Endor Space battle, Emperors Throne room.

I don’t hate Adding Hayden Christiansen into the ghost scene. It made sense that he’d return to the last form of being good.

Return is my favorite movie. I think Empire is better, but Return is my favorite.

Gungans weren't added till 2004, when they re-did the special editions, upgraded Jabba etc

The Gungans weren't in the original Special Editions, they were added for the DVD release. At the end it was Cloud City, Tatooine, Coruscant. Even the Jedi Temple and the Senate building weren't in the original SE, but added for the DVD as well. And then a crap ton more stuff with the Blu-Ray release...

Return of the Jedi is my 2nd favorite in the original trilogy. (After A New Hope, and behind Empire)

16:30 FACT CHECK. Those additions were made in the 2003 DVD releases. not '97.

They just can’t get over that twincest kiss. We’re living in the age of Game of Thrones. Let it go.

Please say: “For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were guardians of Peace and Justice in the Old Republic. Before the Dark Times. Before the Empire.”
