I honestly don't see any tangible benefit of buying a 4100 for a new build considering its Zen 2 and is probably very comparable to the 3100. You either buy a 3100 for cheaper or get some good value out of a 3600 for a little more.

A hypothetical zen 3 R3 5100 and/or 5300X to replace 3100/3300X would do pretty well at the same MSRP i reckon. Though at this point its too late and AMD surely doesn't want to cater to the low end more than it has to. Bit of a sad state of affair imo.

got this on sale for 70usd for my wife's pc, have it paired with my ild rx580, its a good CPU, but when u compare it to what it was intended to reply then it's a meh,
I would only recommend this if you can get below 100usd, good budget cpu, overclocks well

It does not bad for a 4c/8t. But yeah, if you got already a ryzen, then don't buy it.

But its great value for a cheap new pc I guess.

At least more cores and cache still helps a lot with 1% low fps's and so on.

Man... And them you realize that the i9 7900 has comparable performance with 3600...so, in conclusion, the ryzen 3 of today (and obviously the i3) are comparable with the first i9...

Look at CPU Utilization % difference between the two processors, the difference is almost twice, 80% Ryzen 3 4100 vs 40% for Ryzen 5 3600, there is also difference in temps ...
In other words, Ryzen 3 4100 is newer, but not better, it's not worth the money for me ;)

why ryzen 3 4100 very bad and ryzen 5 3600 more then 4100 better, simply and short answre the mega cache of cpu 4100 is 4 MB + 2MB L2 cache with boost clock 4, 0 GHZ and ryzen 5 3600 32 MB cache + 3 MB L2 cache with boost to 4.2 GHZ, the secret in mega cache of CPU guys.😉

your cpu is bottle necking your gpu you need higher graphics settings to load the gpu more and take some load off your cpu
