How To Delete 'Other' Files From Mac

Let me show you how to delete other files on your Mac. This may be taking hundreds of gigabytes of storage on your Mac. You can find it by clicking the apple logo, choosing about this Mac, and selecting storage.

Here, you’ll see a grey bar showing the amount of storage taken up by “other” storage.

If you click manage, you won’t be able to delete other files or remove anything from that section. It will only show how much storage it is taken up.

One thing I recommend before doing this. First, make sure to backup your Mac to a time machine. All you need to do this is an external hard drive.

In order to delete other files on Mac, you need to download software. There is no other easy way to remove files.

in the 04:10 if you don't have the FULL VERSION of this app, you can right click on the file and you see 'REVEAL IN FINDER' click that and you'll see that file you wanna delete at you finder files

Im having a problem. My other storage is taking over 60GB of storage and my laptop is saying the storage is full, but when I use cleanmymac, it says that Im only unsing 88 GB out of 121. None of my folders even show over 60 GB either.

this helped alot, if you're having problems locating the folder, just rightclick the folder on clean my mac and there should be an option that locates it for you in finder

The scan doesn't seem to give me access to "other files". It is showing my system files as 16GB and then it goes onto applications and lower GB files. My Mac still says I have 48GB of other storage not seen in the scans. Any advice?

You do have to pay for the clean my Mac option. They force you to pay to do a full clean or a small clean of the other storage

If my imac started with 1T and I now have 250GB left but most of the space taken up is by OTHER can my imac still run ok?
