What happens if Cloaked shuts down one day, unexpectedly, and you can't then log in to websites you need as the number and email addresses are now invalid? It appears that you're reliant on them staying around. I'd prefer this to be self-hosted.

This looks like a great service but it would definitely lock you into their ecosystem. Imagine if they made a change to the service, such as increasing the cost, that you didn't agree with. It would not be a small task to migrate away. With other services such as Addy, which yes only supports email, at least you can bring your own domain and just update the MX records if or when you need to migrate to another service.

Such a great idea, But as a Cybersecurity Expert and Privacy Geek I'm just shocked at the lack of secure 2FA options!!! And no Firefox plugin support? I can overlook that and use Brave but come on Cloaked, What privacy person is going to use Edge or Google Chrome? Good Grief. If they at least had stronger options than text and email 2FA I subscribe right now. I hope that is on their road map and ASAP!

Two questions arise..The first is with the cloaked email adress, many sites might not accept this email for an accountname. I have had this in the past with hotmail, live and gmail account and certainly when I used the email adress provided by my internet provider. The second question is, you say email is directed to you desktop, but this must go through a server somewhere in (the US?)
and then gets to you, therefor it is the vpn service for emails am I correct? If so how long will they retain you email and will it go through a encrypted tunnel. Cheers ron

Thank you for reaching out about this issue. Unfortunately, Cloaked is not supported outside the US, which includes payment details. Your card was likely declined if it is not from the United States.

We are hoping to launch in the UK by the end of Q1 2024, into early Q2 2024. This is subject to change.
