No kidding the 15" MacBook Air is probably the best laptop I've seen in the past few years. It delivers on the promise of bigger and better which is actually really hard to pull off.

And you should totally buy one!

Great video — per usual!! I absolutely love your channel man! I bought the 15” with 16GB RAM and the 512GB SSD in Space Gray. I consider myself very difficult to please, and a very demanding “Pro User.” After using a 16” M1 Pro MacBook Pro (16GB, 512GB) as my daily driver… This 15” M2 Air is the perfect Mac for me.

It’s so satisfying to reach over with one hand… snatch it up off the couch or my bed… and throw it in my lap. I couldn’t do this as easily with the 16” Pro, and the difference always puts a smile on my face.

The thin and light build of the Air is what I like most about it.

Yes, the 16” M1 Pro has a more powerful chip on paper, and it has fans, but the M2 Air with the 16/512 feels just as powerful in person. I have not run into any “Beach balls, ” it’s lightning fast, the 15.3” screen is excellent, and I like it so much that I sold my 16” M1 Pro because I don’t need it for anything anymore.

If anyone is torn between a new 15” M2 Air with 16/512 ($1, 699), or a refurbished 14” or 16” M1 Pro or M2 Pro… Here’s my recommendation:

#1 - 15” M2 Air
#2 - 16” M1 Pro MacBook Pro
#3 - 14” M1 Pro MacBook Pro

- It’s super thin and light
- I like it more than the heavier Pro’s (Especially the tiny, but fat 14)
- Don’t be worried about an upgraded M2 (16/512) being slow… because it’s NOT! It’s insanely powerful
- The 15” M2 Air’s screen is excellent
- The speakers are excellent
- The keyboard on the Air is better than the black one on the Pro

A $1, 699 15” M2 Air with 16/512 is the perfect laptop for 99% of the “power users” on the planet in 2023/2024. I couldn’t imagine a better computer for my needs and I highly recommend it!

You can buy it right now on the Apple Refurbished store for $1, 439.

Do it! Do it! 🙋‍♂️

Nice review. I had a similar reaction when I looked at/touched it. Switching from my 13" Air to the 15" was a real struggle. I went back and forth for days before finally making the purchase and I love it. Battery life is better - I am not a power user so I can get almost three days of use. The screen (like that of the 13") is beautiful and, of course, larger. The extra real estate on the body makes for better typing. It handles Photoshop, Lightroom, and Sketchup smoothly and quickly. AND it does not have a fan. I would highly recommend the 15" MacBook Air. I also suggest running Sonoma on it.

I went with a 512 storage, 16 ram, 15" Air over the 14" Pro due to a few reasons. For me the thinner, lighter body with the larger screen is worth the reduced performance and limited ports. The M2 is plenty fast for what I use it for (Excel, R Studio, Xcode, VMware + standard computer stuff) and I rarely use ports anyways.

Gotta agree with you on this my friend. The switch from a pc laptop to base 15in air has been quite impressive. Silence is so needed. I also completely agree that the base model is the only model that makes real sense monetarily. Thanks for the recommendation and keeping it simple.

I got the Air 15” silver 16GB ram and 1 TB SSD and simply love it. Used to have a pro intel touch bar and honestly no regrets on my Air. All da best

I upgraded to the base model (15 inch m2) from my MacBook Pro 2015 and I cannot be any happier. The upgrade is so big. The 15 inch is lighter in weight, has a bigger screen than the 13 MacBook Pro and it’s capable of way more. Doesn’t get warm. Even when using Lightroom.

The Mrs bought this a few weeks ago fully specced up i might add and at a crazy price. That out of the way what a machine, why you would need more is beyond me as it flies through workloads at a tremendous rate.
The screen size is way more useful than the 13 or 14 especially in this compact package.A SD reader would have been nice but that’s life.
Great video buddy.

I'm watching this on the 15in MacBook Air, I exchanged the 13.6in for this and it was the best decision I've made in a while. love your videos!

Appreciate your confirmation of what I found after 6 weeks with an M2 MBA 13” ($900 in January) and 2 weeks with an M2 MBA 15” ($1000 in early February). Yes it’s a slab compared with the “just grab me” 13”, but …

… where I really found that big screen such a boon was when I Airplayed (actually Sidecar) to it from my M2 Pro Mini on a 35” ultrawide (3440x1440) monitor. When I moved over an Excel worksheet to the 13” it was like looking through a submarine porthole. Even at the highest res the 13” could muster. The 15” is more comparable to the LG 35” monitor, and when I bring a worksheet over, with slightly lower res than Sidecar’s recommended “default” the size is nearly 1:1. I’ve found my new ultralite take-anywhere laptop.

It’s a little Laurel & Hardy when I put my iPad Mini next to it, but still … they’re both super easy to pick up and work on.

I agree with you 100%. I have a 14"Pro, but since I purchased the 15"air, it's been my go to laptop every day. I bought the basic silver version and its perfect.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one to likes the larger screen because I'm having more issues reading text than I used to! Getting old SUCKS! I'm seriously thinking about upgrading from my 13 inch M1 Macbook Air to the 15...it's sure pretty!

I bought this for $1000 while trading in the 13" version for $700 from Best Buy, today. I know the new version might be announced a couple weeks but to upgrade for $300 felt like a good deal.

Just bought this and so far, so good. I have an awesome desktop and iPad Pro but wanted a laptop. Never had a Mac before so I need to learn the system.

Gary, love the video! I’m looking into getting one of the Macs, the only concern is about the 8gb of non upgradable ram. The main use is for work, but I don’t develop, nor compile videos, so it is just web tools that i use.

I agree on fanless. It’s so annoying hearing and feeling hot air being blown out on other laptops.

I traded in my 13" M1 Air for the 15" M2 Air. No regrets!

I've waited years for a 15 " Air and when I finally held it in hands and used it for a week I realized it's too big (for me). I returned it and bought the 13" model and am so happy with it's portability.

Ttally agree with everything you've said. I love my 15" MacBook Air (but I upgraded to 16 and 1 TB to future proof it)

Yep! 15 in has been a DREAM while traveling. No longer stuck in my hotel room. Been using it by the pool, the mall, the patio, everywhere!
