Just wanted to let you know that I'm a music teacher and I'm showing this video to my students as we start our recorder unit! :) It's adorable and hilarious and they get a kick out of it.

When you said on Instagram that you made a video about how to teach a kid to play the recorder, I thought it would be about an old tape recorder and a cassette player. This was hilarious though!!!

You just deprived your daughter of a wonderful experience. As a professional recorder player (yup, you can earn a Masters Degree in this), having taught many children to play the recorder beautifully, I know that playing a musical instrument can 1.) increase your problem solving skills, 2.) teach perseverance and self-motivation 3.) assist in helping your child get better grades in math and other topics. What a shame that you took this opportunity away from your daughter. Throwing away the instrument instead of teaching your daughter to make pleasing sounds with, or kindly asking her to stop being obnoxious, it is just BAD PARENTING.
