Few more things I forgot to mention:
1. I think it was a missed opportunity for Velobuild not to design external cable routing options. Not everyone loves fully internal cables. CX frames take a lot of abuse and require more maintenance than road bikes.

2. While the proprietary aero seatpost is unique, a traditional 27.2mm post would have made more sense. Again it’s about functionality and serviceability. Having to wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement seatpost is off-putting if you have a bunch of CX events closely scheduled.

3. Rather than speculating the frame being from a different factory or me receiving a “Hambini Special”, perhaps VeloBuild is simply listening to their customers regarding quality control. If so then I welcome the $100 price increase.

Noticed they've also come up with a new gravel offering, the GF-003. Might be an interesting comparison somewhere down the line. Also, if the build quality has indeed improved on the updated 2023 range, that would be quite the thing given the price. Recently tried out a Twitter gravel bike which is similarly priced and the internals were a complete disaster. The weight indicates it's been overengineered/ reinforced however and it actually rides fine. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy though ;)

I run Continental Cyclo X-King in a 32 cm width. They’re awesome for slashing through mud and dirt roads. Side knobs grip well on the occasional fishtail.

cross bikes are a hole different kind of bike its a lot shorter and steeper head angel it makes the bike more twitchy for ripping trails and snow mud ect for cross racing road gravel bike geometry dose better going faster and fells more stable going fast . At the end of the day its a good all around bike for everything it just fells a lot different but its always fun.

I use my CX bike for gravel too with 38mm tyres. I find a lot of gravel framesets are just too upright with the geometry.

1x Rival AXS. If you want wide range, you can use a GX AXS derrailleur... So also, MTB range rear.

There used to be an older CX002 model with external cables and a 27.2 post. It was an older post mount only frame, sadly.

Go for BSA for cheap Chinese frame.... even the superbrand themselves don't trust their own outsource frame China factory with press fit frame.
