Had mine two months and 2000 miles. Engine pulls strongly right across the rev range. Gearbox extremely precise. Superlight slipper assist clutch. Very light, accurate handling - helped by mass centralisation. Comfortable seat and riding position (very slight lean forward). Strong brakes. Dash extremely clear and informative.
Proper, direct riding experience with a bit of raw edge that keeps you connected and involved. Kawasaki have got this one right.

This is the bike for me. Living in central central London, I love the small size, narrow width and manageable power.

Had my 2020 z650 about 4 months now, done 860ish miles on it. Bloody love it. I’m around 5ft1 and it’s great bike for anyone my size. I had z750 before which is 100lbs heavier than the new z650... an extra 100lbs is big amount when you can only just get your toe down 🙈 so to lose that weight has been fantastic.
Really happy with it and it hasn’t missed a beat so far 👍👍

I am purchasing this bike as my first, and this review absolutely just sealed the deal, any doubts I had are gone. Hearing your little sounds of pure glee and joy made me love this bike even more.

Tuned versions of this parallel twin Kawasaki 650 engine powered many highly competitive racebikes in the American Flat Track series. They endured serious high rpm abuse and sounded fantastic while doing it!

What a great review, I have a 2017 z650 and I've noticed it always gets bad reviews. It's good to see someone enjoy it as much as I do, it's a great looking bike and loads of fun to own.

I had a ride on one of these yesterday. Was my first time on a 650 (Just started my DAS) and i absolutely loved riding this bike!

If you push and hold the right button, the TFT will go inverse and be even better to see in the daytime. Also, you can turn the flashing off for gear indication. They set it at 4k RPM because that's what they recommend to stay below for the first phase of break-in. (but you can also set it to flash at whichever rev you want)

This was a nice refreshing review, I like to see someone post a positive review of my bike, I have the 2022 version without ABS, and the guy I normally watch absolutely hates the Kawasaki 650 lineup. But as my first bike I absolutely love the Z650.

Got one. Best feature after the engine - power right across the rev range - and super light, agile handling is how manageable and easy to live with the bike is day to day - it's never annoying.

I rode the 2018 model as my first learner bike (before they switched up to F750GS). I found it really forgiving and nimble to ride, and that new TFT is pretty darn tasty.

As a modern looking bike i admit that is has a nice design, I’m more into classic looks but this one looks nice. The TFT reminds me of the ones used on the triumphs, sounds nice and it looks to be more userfriendy than the MT07 when you get excited with the throttle.

I tried the older version. The engine is exactly how you described it being "punchy" which made it a huge amount of fun and bought out the holligan in me. I did find in town at slower speeds it was a bit "jerky" though tbh. Good bike though and I would say its a very good price in my opinion. Especially with it being so upto date. Good work👍🍻

Passed my test on one of these beauties the other day. Stunning bike! Great review!

Thanks for mentioning the throttle snatchiness in lower gear at lower speeds and the some what abrupt on off throttle. This is my pet peeve and what I am looking for in reviews. Most reviewers seem to miss this yet when I go on a test ride there it is. Also the front end diving and brake grabbing and how the suspension fairs with bumpy roads. Good details please keep it up.
