A dedicated short code, unlike a shared short code, is dedicated to one specific brand. The dedicated short code costs the brand either $1000 or $500 per month. The $1000 dollar variation is a vanity short code, which means that it is a number that is chosen by the brand itself. The $500 option is a non-vanity short code, which is cheaper because the brand is not able to choose its own number.
