A website should be created to track the average price of eggs everyday just to sell the point.

The President does not understand tariffs. Tariffs are necessary for specific item that countries sell that unfairly compete with domestic products. It is quite apparent the majority of people don't understand tariffs. If you put an across the board tariff in place the public will find out what inflation is all about. We purchase goods from other countries that we do not manufacture, these goods will have a 25% increase in cost to you not the country that sells them . Tariffs are used to put on items that the foreign countries subsidize to create an unfair market place and undercut the price of our domestic products. If you want to bring jobs back, you will have to convince big business to stop producing their products abroad to maximize their profits. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! WE need to motivate the business community to bring the jobs back, they are the one sending them overseas. WE PAY THE TARIFFS when you purchase those items !

Right now today write down your cost for eggs, bread, milk, meat. And gallon of gas. Let's watch those prices. Get the evidence about if Donald really lower prices. Get the evidence

Yes of course it is going to raise prices. The provider will raise their prices to compensate for the tariffs. STOP BUYING and they will be forced to have competitive prices that compete with US prices. Only THEN will the Tarrifs work. the US citizens need to stop buying out of country until things balance back out and we the people are not paying for other countries fees. There is a reason no legacy USA companies are successful in other countries. They all get an added entry Tax onto them from those countries. Our Tariffs are no different. We Call them Tariffs. They call them Tax's. ( I wanted to give something away to another company in another country for them to simply learn from it and di sect. Customs in that country would not release it until I added a value to it. So the Country could make money off of it entering the country. Government no matter the country always get their pound of flesh. We use different terms and hide things differently from the citizens.

How ever its rather simple. If our product has a 30% tax entering your country. Than your product will have a 30% tax entering our country. Yeah they nul each other out. But this is politics. It only benefits the government who in return gets more tax's at the cost of the consumers in both countries.

Here is the value of what Canada imports from America on a per capita basis, compared to America's other major trade partners. The numbers are for 2023. It is total imports of American made products divided by population.

On a per capita basis, Canada buys 84 TIMES what China buys, and more than three TIMES what America's next best customer, name Mexico, buys.

If per capita purchases are a proxy for how dedicated a country is to buying American in a trade relationship, America has no trading partner like Canada.

China - $147.81 Billion/1.411 Billion people = $105 US per citizen

Europe - $368.76 Billion/742.3 Million people = $497 US per citizen

Japan - $76.15 Billion/124.5 Million people = $612 US per citizen

UK - $74.05 Billion/68.35 Million people = $1, 083 US per citizen

Australia - $33.7 Billion/26.64 Million people = $1, 265 US per citizen

South Korea - $87.8 Billion/51.71 Million people = $1, 698 US per citizen

Mexico - $323.23 Billion/128.5 Million people = $2, 515 US per citizen

Canada - $352.76 Billion/40.1 Million people = $8, 797 US per citizen

Of course the tariffs will lead to higher prices. Tariffs protect local industries by making imported goods and services more expensive so the locals’ higher prices are more competitive. The US economy is massive but the EU is larger and there are other large trade blocs like ASEAN. A US that decides everyone must play by its rules will soon be isolated.

That happens when you vote by emotions instead do your duty and inform yourself about the politics and the consequences of your politicians.
The stupidness of people is not the problem but the laziness of the people to inform themself.

Didn't he backtrack on imposing those tariffs, "for now"? And it is day one, so once again, he's lying to his minions.

I don’t think y’all understand. We used to be a tariff base country until 1913. It worked. Unfortunately, the irs was created to replace that system and we’ve been paying them ever since.
