I agree with you, carrack is the best large ship in the game still. For only $100 more it's a no brainer, you'll get triple the gameplay vs. an M2

Have the Carrack as it has more versatility as exploration ships are kinda jack of all trades ships. The Hercules is more solo friendly over the carrack but the carrack has 3 modular pods on the bottom(default is cargo modules like the caterpillar), med bay, drone room(cig has stated all drones are swappable between variants), probably the best scanning in game, possible command and control, has a dedicated space for a shuttle and ground vehicles separate from cargo areas, idk about the engineer room in the carrack as we don't have a lot of info if it is a 3d printer. Both of these ships have dedicated crew rooms, armor storage, and weapon storage(M2 has the large weapon storage for railgun/missile launcher). I still think the carrack is a better value over the Hercules but the Hercules is very focused on cargo and ground vehicle transport(best at moving large ground vehicles). nice vid

I uploaded my c2 to the M2 with war bond as later i will upgrade to the A2 and then i will upgrade from the A2 to the pioneer when the A2 increases in price at release and when the poineer wilp be available to ccu. Also i get the C2 for free as a loaner anyway for the BMM

I got the Carrack in the 2018 exploration pack. So depending how you want o count things, it cost me $225 of $356. And the M2 will probably cost me around $250-$300. (I'll let you know once the wheeling and dealing of Discount CCUs Is done)

Depends on what you want to do with it. The Carrack can do so many things well. But the M2 is probably going to be better in combat.

These two ships are completely different from each other. One is a transport the other is an exploration ship.

The only Herc I've got my eyes on to hold is the A2. I own all 3 now but the two lesser variants are upgrade chained to the Polaris and BMM respectively. People "including myself at one point" shit all over the A2 but when you sit down and think about how unique this game is and will be, it hits you just how important an A2 really is... Not for little dick griefing.. Not even for Org attacks, the thing that placed it in a niche category in the first place... But for full blown ground warfare. Something people think won't be a major portion of SC... Idk why that is.. wars won't all be fought in space. And the UEE will need troops on the ground to initiate and counter surface conflicts.. Bombing/firing runs with the UEE, military equipment/supply drops with the UEE.. list goes on. Yes, it's going to take some time for the A2 to truly shine but when it It will be understood why it's always the center of attention in any conflict on BOTH sides, if the enemy is smart anyway. There will be war in space... no doubt about it.. but people should not underestimate how the tides can change with the flip and press of a button or a firing run. Look to the AC-130 for more info.

Great Video!!! Carrack will continue to be by far the best large ship in game until the Polaris comes. Why the Polaris? Because it's as versatile as the Carrack, only exchanging the exploration for big torpedoes. Still has cargo, med bay, a brig, a better hangar and capital componants. Basically, to me, the Polaris is a bigger (not necessarily) Carrack. M2 do not even compete. Another contender might be the BMM but so much is in the air. BTW, once it is in-game, Carrack vs BMM, battle of the most popular ships, would a great video!

Fuel costs won't matter if you are in an org because the org will make their own fuel and provide for the fleet. Problem with these transport ships is going to be where are we going to replenish the vehicles? We need something like an LPD/LHA style ship that has large vehicle bay to replenish the transport ships to get the replacement vehicles or reinforcements to wherever the destination is. I hope they don't want us to travel back to some station everytime we need to get vehicles. With that said we need a way to transfer the vehicles to the hercules in space. There are so many holes in logistics for this game it's appalling. They can't half arse do this or the military conquest aspect is going to be a dumpster fire.

As of today, 3 ships in store, available for sale, M2 is largest capacity, followed by Catrack, and Statfarer. M2 HAS BETTERHP i think and it's a bit cheaper. Cargo go Herc.
