Judge.me vs LOOX - Comparing the best product review apps for Shopify

A product review app is the only must-have app for any Shopify store. It is a basic eCommerce function.
Shopify doesn't do it natively though, so you need an app.

As of March 2024 - Shopify's own "Shopify Product Reviews" app will be deprecated - so if you were using it, now you need to choose a new reviews app.

JudgeMe and Loox are the two leading apps in the space. So I decided to compare them.

Obviously, I couldn't cover all the features of each app in 12 minutes. Here I am simply showing the core features that are necessary for any product reviews app. But even here you can see a difference.

Loox is the more premium option. It is easier to set up and use. But JudgeMe has almost all the same features for new stores on a budget.

If I were to guess, the reason stems from the company culture. JudgeMe seems like a "developer-driven" company and Loox is a "design-driven" company.

Disclaimer: I have an affiliate link for Loox, but I did my best to provide a balanced review. I was honestly more impressed with Loox, but I will also continue to use and recommend JudgeMe for some stores.

i want to integrate different specific code (javascript or json) on each product page
the problem is that a json meta field type exists
but in customize store I can't find block or section with structured data to apply meta json field

I've watched many reviews on the two. This is the best, but none of them address the one question I have and that is if you have a multi product store, are you going to end up with something like 'No reviews yet' showing on all of the products that don't yet have reviews?

Question: I just install the Loox app and if a customer order multiple product, do they just receive a email with one product in the review email? Because I want to make sure if they can review more than 1 product.

you didnt show the most important thing for me in a review app like this that is, whether if you can import reviews, and then can you edit them ? I use loox and we can edit with excel, its a huge pain in the ass tho

I went on your link to install it, and before installation, the Beginner price was 9.99, after installation it went up to 14, 99. Not so ethical I would say, to not mention this kind of "twist", Ed...
