Absolutely! It's why my 8 year old cats haven't scratched or bitten me since they were little babies. They're too sweet to ever purposely attack me anyway, but even when playing, I can avoid getting accidentally scratched quite easily.

Cats are amazing communicators if you just learn their language. :)

my cat actually wags her tail when she is happy I'm serious she does. it just looks different than the way she wags it when she's unhappy

My cats body language is she pushes my hand away with her paw if she is done with pets and scratches. She lifts her from leg straight up in the air to let me know she wants pit scratches. She will paw me gently when she wants my undivided attention. She flops on her back 9n my lap for me to catch her and scratch her collar bone area. She is a little character. 😂

My cat always has saucer eyes, so I thought that he hated me.. then I looked it up, and it's probably because I keep my apartment very dimly lit lol

You are responsible for greatly improving my relationship with my son's cat. He always came to me, but after a while he'd just leave. I realized by watching him that he loved my pets & purred happily, but I didn't know when to stop. I started to watch his body language & I would stop petting when he had enough. Then he'd relax & take a nap in my lap❣️

My cat usually only bites if he wants attention, every morning he needs his ‘ morning uppies ‘ where he just wants to be held and cuddled for awhile. Usually awhile after that he goes into play mode and runs around with his toys. I think most cats try to communicate their wants with their owners! If something makes your kitty upset they find ways to let you know!

My cat wags his tail when I give him the treat he doesn't want. He's VERY specific about churus. Clever little devil

My kitten loves me and has no intention of hurting me. She learned to keep her claws fully retracted and her bites gentle by the time she was 6 weeks old (I adopted her at 4 1/2 weeks). It was easier than I expected; I simply overacted being hurt whenever she started biting hard or her claws came out.

She sometimes gets carried away when playing, but usually responds when I say "gentle". There are few things more delightful than kitten paws on your face or playing with your fingers.

It’s funny how you improve in cat-reading by just living with cats. I don’t have to look at my cats anymore to know what they need or what they don’t want me to do. I can feel it without thinking. They know my ways too. I started with reading lots of cat manuals and watching videos like this one though.

I have a couple that wag their tails like a dog. They get so freaking happy and love the pets. Their tails just going! Now the flick or thump 😬👀 that’s a whole different story. LOL

I had a faded calico named Pie and she was the most reactive cat I've ever known. No ear pinning, no pulling the whiskers back. It was almost like a piece of dust would float through the room and she'd get violent. The only thing I could see as a tell for her was that her fur would stop moving. After a year of working with her she was one of the sweetest, and smartest cats I've ever met. I miss my Pie💕

Tho the tail wagging is usually true, not always, one of my cats wags his tail when he's loving you, he is so cute. Tail slapping is definitely frustrations always tho. Also Sometimes my cats put their ears back when I am sitting behind them because they are listening to what I am doing or saying 😸
