Scientists are warning that glaciers in the French Alps are heating so fast they are becoming a threat to popular tourist villages.

As a result of global warming, glaciers become warmer and the threat of collapse and avalanches increases.

The cost of these potential threats will fall on neighbouring villages that could be completely destroyed.

Research shows climate change is to blame, with similar threats examined in the Andes and Antarctica.

Al Jazeera’s Craig Leeson reports from Mont Blanc, France.

So "living in a Monteblanc village" is now an extreme sport in and of itself. Soon enough, "incarnating as a human being" may also fit the bill.
