This type of fainting affects both men and women equally.
Passing out or fainting are referred to as syncope. The medical word for fainting that is triggered by particular stimuli like the sight of blood, a needle, or a strong emotion like dread or horror is called vasovagal syncope. It is the primary cause of fainting.
Treatment is not always necessary for vasovagal syncope. However, it's a good idea to try to stay away from circumstances that make you dizzy and to take precautions to avoid getting hurt if you fall.
Vasovagal syncope has many different causes and kinds, and there is no universal treatment for it. Your specific course of treatment depends on what is causing your recurrent symptoms. Vasovagal syncope clinical trials have had mixed results in some cases.

I’ve been dealing with this since 2017. I will randomly get nauseated and my blood pressure and heart rate drop extremely low. I get extremely sweaty and light headed so I just lay on the floor with feet elevated in hopes I don’t lose consciousness. I’m in my early 30s and In very good shape. This can happy to anyone.

This happened to me for the first time recently. Healthcare in America is nuts. I was only out for like 30 seconds and now I’ve got to pay a month’s worth of my paycheck to an ambulance company because a Good Samaritan called one. Absolutely insane. Obviously I don’t blame the caller, just the system. Remind me to drive myself to the hospital next time I might be dying.

After insertion of a stent in my 100% blocked LAD vein (3 hrs operation), I have had about 5 bask-vagel fainting spells in 9 years. My blood pressure for a few years after the operation was mostly low. All fainting spells occurred when discussing medical issues with a doctor, particularly when a replica plastic heart was on the desk of the doctor. Recently, I was watching a YouTube interview where two people were discussing an operation to reconstruct a shoulder with all the gory details.

Cut my finger at work the other day and it started bleeding really bad. I was washing it off with my manager and I was looking away from the blood. But it still wasn't enough as I could only think about the blood gushing out from my finger tip/nail. I passed out for a minute and hit my head. They called the paramedics to make sure I was alright; embarrassing to say the least.

It started with me at the age of 16 with a blood test and now it's still happening at the age of 24 from both blood tests and vaccinations and I'm not afraid of needles, maybe it's the thought of something like that getting inside me that scares me.

I had my first episode in 1970 when I was 8. It has happened a couple of times every 10 years or so. My triggers are stress, dehydration and heat. The last time was 5 years ago. I was driving. I felt it coming on and was able to pull into a parking lot. It was scary and I had a panic attack. Thats when I finallly talked with my doctor and found out what was happening.

I hit my knee recently (full force right above the middleof my knee cap) on a metal corner piece while climbing onto a backhoe. After about 15 seconds, i felt light-headed and dizzy, then fell onto the ground but didn't fully black out. This seems to be the only explanation i can find, even though my whole life, randomly hitting/bumping into things I've never experienced fainting before.

Happened to me today, first time in a couple years. Took my 1 year old to the ER after working all day. Got the discharge papers, picked him up, and sat back down then called for help. Nurses were very nice taking my son and helping me to the bed. Got me some cold rags and some ice water. 5 minutes later walked out when before there was no way I would have made it out the room. Still feel like crap need water and salt lol.

I get this just before I have to poop. But I've never fainted yet thank God. Thats what the doctor said was happening to me.

I cut my finger while cooking & it didn’t hurt that bad but it was pretty deep, & when I took the dressing off a few hours later I saw my finger, I didn’t actually think too much when I saw it, I’m not squeamish or scared of blood, it did bleed a lot but I wasn’t too concerned, I stayed calm & treated it as you should, however all of a sudden I had this Vado Vagal Syncope! Felt horrible, I had super pins & needles in my forearms down to my hands, (like I had been out in the snow & come inside to a warm house) also my hearing went funny, I also felt sick, I started sweating pretty badly & felt like I was going to pass out, such a weird experience, never had anything like it before

I have had many many many occurring vasovagal syncope episodes, I had one during school today, and it is alarming to others because it doesn't last that long. I can barely walk after one happening. It's like i see how the pins and needles in my foot feels

I occasionally get dizzy/nauseous spells (rarely) but they seem to come more or less out of the blue with no specific trigger (but sometimes when I’m very tired). I almost pass out (but haven’t as yet) and the episode is over in less than a minute. The most notable physical symptom thousand though whilst this is happening, I sweat very profusely, just pouring off me.??
My doctors are at a loss to explain this.
