South Korea has been told to expect more cyber attacks from North Korea as Pyongyang is reportedly plucking the country's brightest young minds to train as professional hackers.
Citing North Korean defectors' testimony, Steven Kim, professor at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Services based in Hawaii, says selected elementary students take specially-designed courses in the North, then go to Russia or China for field and advanced training.
The professor also says North Korea has been building up its cyberforce since the mid-1990s and currently boasts 3-thousand professional hackers.
North Korea has been blamed for a series of cyber attacks on South Korean political and financial institutions over the past few years.
