In the interest of doing something fun and educational, we went out on the street with a map of the United States that we blacked out so you couldn't see the shapes of the states, and we asked people walking by to name this country.

A friend of mine lived in the US for many years. One time he fell into a conversation with a guy in a bar and they talked.
After a while the guy says "You know, you speak pretty good English, for a foreigner, where are you from?"
And my friend said England!"
And the guy said What language do they speak there?"

I thought this video was staged until yesterday I called an American customer representative who literally thought that Canada is a US state!

I want to see them do one where they ask people where Rhode Island is on a map of the world. The confusion I’ve been met with when I say I’m from Rhode Island is unbelievable. I’ve had everything from people thinking RI is in New York, or Canada, or London, and all the way to people telling me it doesn’t exist 🥴 and yes most of those people were Americans… 🙃
