Obviously, the Ally X outperforms the SD, no need to keep beating the dead horse. For my case, I love my SD for the easy emulation, a huge library throughout the years, and light AAA gaming on the go. While I use my PC for the more demanding performance.

Ally X with Bazzite is like the Thanos of handheld PC. it plays ALL PC games and you can still have the beloved Steam OS just like a SteamDeck.

Steamdeck owner with an ally x on its way. I love the SD for its ease of use and its form factor made it feel like a fun toy. Over time though it’s just not powerful or versatile enough for my needs/wants.

Forgot to mention that it also comes with improved fans and thermals and now 1tb ssd standard full size. It’s a refresh of the og just like the steam deck Oled. It’s the upgrades the ally needed. Enough for me to sell my steam deck Oled. It uses the same screen because there are no vrr Oled displays and that would hike up the price. I’d prefer the IPs lcd 120 hz 1080p screen. It doesn’t need a higher resolution. Steam deck Oled with 1tb is 650 and limited in comparison. Putting the ally x at 900p medium settings can run most triple aaa so well and natively.

You already know. The ROG ALLY X is wayy better than the STEAM DECK OLED. That's for sure!

I only have a steam deck, but if I didn't have one I'd go for the Ally X. You'd need to get the $650 deck to have parity on the storage size. A $350 64gb deck is gonna need at least another $100+ to increase the drive size to 1TB. From what I've seen the Ally X is better in almost every way. It can emulate ps3 and run all the more recent games at higher settings and a better framerate. I've never held one, but I'd imagine the dpad and bumpers have to be better than what's on the deck. The Ally X now has the better battery life. A lot quieter. You can install Bazzite to get the steam deck experience. They're both good handhelds no matter which one you get.

Had ally OG extreme, sold it bcoz was full of bugs… got SD Oled and was ok, but I really want to play some game pass games and sadly recent games look so bad on SD that I was doing mostly remote play using PlayStation portal, finally sold SD Oled and PS Portal and got ally X. Wow… no bugs! It just work as the SD + more games + performance + battery. Even sleep mode resume work. 🎉 1TB price was mostly the same for me as I use game pass and don’t need to keep buying games on steam. Don’t forget, the refresh rate ❤

Don’t care what the manufacturer’s intentions are. Since I won’t buy more than one handheld, I’m certainly comparing these two models. Longer battery life and the potential to stream from my gaming PC are making me lean towards the SteamDeck OLED.

if you have big steam library, you want to play it out of the box, you want to play some older games or some low performance then yes steam deck is for you, if you like brand new titles or even consider emualation and you like palying with software then ally x is best choice, it costs a lot so it might be good idea to wait for cheaper price but I would not buy a console because it's cheaper, I would buy the one that fulfill expectations

Iv had the steam deck oled but sold it, iv just got the ally x the other day and for me personally the extra fps and the 1080p screen is what really does it for me. I found the screen on the oled pretty but didn't give the resolution that I prefer.

I honestly prefer the legion go. I don't really think about playing games enough when I'm out to care about the extra battery life and the added ram is kinda pointless, because the igpu isn't even powerful enough to use it.

This depends on what kind of games you play on your device. If you are mostly on 2d and lite 3d games or emulators like me, steam deck is way better and easier to use. But for modern and heavy games, rog Ally x is better because of better hardware.

I’m currently have this dilemma whether i should get the ally x or keep the steam deck oled. I like more raw power but their are something about the deck that keeps me going. That console experience is hard to passes consider i don’t have much time to tinker with things anymore with family and kids. For me, having windows means i’m constantly tinkering with things instead of playing games. Also i looked at my steam library and their are no modern AAA games that i played on the go. My AAA games sits in my ps5 lol. I think i will keep my deck and save some money.

You make a comparison on things you don't have showing other people's videos? How reliable.

I love my steam deck. Honestly i wouldn't know how to even use a PC, so for me the deck is perfect.

I have a steamdeck and a good gaming laptop. I bring them both when im on a trip. Steamdeck for casual gaming. Nothing beats the console feel of it. Thanks to the steamOS. And my laptop for more demanding or games that are not on my steam library and for work ofcourse. 😂

The go has it all it can anything its like swicth meet a pc and cheaper 500 dollars used or 600 new. You drop the 800p and get everything you fps or you go for the graphic The stram deck is best for the price and the ecosystem.

I'm actually thinking about getting a steam deck, mostly because it seems to have a lot of support compared to the others but also the advantage to have "all" my steam games, better prices and I can connect it to my tv instead of moving my pc around.
Not to mention I don't need steam plus online subscription to play online, and usually our games are safe and we can download them whenever we want, unlike nintendo and sony that like to close up shop for older games.

The only thing that I'm worried about is the input lag, some people complained about it and this is the deal breaker for me. Is it bad or it has something to do when tweaking with the refreshrate/framerate thingy?

You can’t want a better product to also be cheaper. Ally X has better hardware than the steam deck. It cannot cost the same.
