Ukrainian forces have for months been slowly retreating in the country's east. Analysis by the AFP news agency found that Ukraine lost some 200 square kilometers of territory to Russian advances in July. It's adding greatly to the immense pressure already felt by Ukraine's armed forces.

From this report it sounds like they’ve run out of people willing to fight for the current government because the land remains the land regardless of who is administering it.
If that’s the case, they need to sue for peace and stop fooling themselves.

I watched an interview of a Brazilian soldier who went to fight for Ukraine and he said that the equipment they gave to him was total garbage, so he had to buy his own equipment and he was told that if he was injured in battle he would need to pay for his medical expenses. Ukraine is not a serious country. He ended up asking people on the internet to help him with money so he could buy his flight ticket back to Brazil after several months fighting for Ukraine.
