Post-colonial grand-parenting

It would be a safe assumption to note that many children in the West own a play tea-set, which includes the small tea cups and saucers, either in plastic, wood or even china. But how far should grandparents play along to tea time, moving from make-belief to setting up one themselves, offering “post colonial experience” with butter biscuits etc and including lessons on western etiquette.
