When I was a child, whenever it rained my mum would wake my brother, sister and me up (my dad worked night), turn off all the lights and turn the sofa to face the windows.

We would all sit there with hot chocolate and listen to the storm while waiting to see the lightning, we lived on a hill and could see for miles.

We all grew up to absolutely love thunderstorms and do similar things with our children.

As someone who goes outdoors alot and inherited my grandfather’s logcabin he built in 1979, I can truly say that peaceful aura this video gives is much limited. I know the feeling. Of sitting out on the porch, in the rain, just watching the raindrops fall. There is nothing like it. The only world you’re concerned about is your surroundings. I miss the bush.
