I'm so confused by how sex and affection is handled in anime. We have 12 episode seasons of stuff that ends up with holding hands as the climax. Rarely do couples ever show any physical affection toward each other, and even more rarely do they have sex, even adult couples. Which leads to hundreds, maybe thousands of anime with absolutely no romantic progress between couples. I just don't get it.
