Aftermarket air intake was low, so I replaced it with stock intake mounted high. Less power, not worried about water.

Scotty, this should be a required course in HS to student drivers.
They need to be well informed.

Had my subi floating. Luckily it pulled out. I give them kudos on air intake placement

Auto transmissions and some differentials use water soluble glue on clutch plates.

You don't want to go in water deeper than the lower part of your floor. Vehicles that are designed to go in deeper water have switched that turn off the fans and clutch fan or dont have a clutch fan. Those fans will get damaged quick. The ones I drove were standard in the military and they could only hamdle up to 5 feet of water.

He's right I took my jeep through a pretty deep mud hole and it sucked up water and mud in the transmission and completely ruined it. I had to buy a whole new one. This time I went with the manual

Hey Scotty!!! I love your videos. I was wondering do you have a video on how to Wash or wipe down the engine area properly? I often see some cars with such clean under the hood area. How do they keep so clean? Mine is dusty it's dusty here in TEXAS. So watch out for puddles of water. What about when it rains? I have GMC TERRAIN if that helps. If you run out of content can you talk about GMC TERRAINS. Thank you so much!!!!

Water will destroys your automatic transmission because the glue in the clutches is water soluble.

When I power wash my engine . I stuff a 16 x 16 microfiber towel into the air intake to keep out water .

Only on cheap cars. VW and many othets have a radiator for auto transmission (since 1993)

Interesting. I've not yet had a vehicle with a low air intake so not too worried about it. I'll want to keep an eye out for that moving forward. Thanks!!!
