Had white once, ate ramen noodles the next day and they immediately turned bright yellow. Learned my lesson real quick!

Few things: Stay away from foods with a lot of pigment (curry, red wine). We change the ties every appointment so don’t worry too much if stains happen. Pick whatever makes you feel confident 👍🏼

Burgundy/ maroon were also rlly good colors to avoid staining. And such a pretty color on braces too!

I assure you - 18 years after I've had braces, I definitely don't remember which colours I chose for my rubbers and which stained.

I always did grey. I hated my braces and wanted whatever would be the least eye catching. Looking back I wish I had tried at least one set of fun colors.

i always went with black bc it made my teeth look really white and matching all of my outfits lol

Picking a color was always my favorite part … I always alternated colors or did a pattern of some sort. I did rainbow once. My doc was cool af

I had grey ones. But one of my first set was pink and purple. Now I’m a bit sad that I didn’t try other combinations. People in my middle school thought it was cool actually. And it was so pretty 🙏

I regret not having more fun with colors when I had braces way back when in the 90s. I always went with the dark grey, thinking that since it blended in with the brackets it'd draw less attention to the braces. Which is stupid because a. who cares, I was lucky to have them & lots of kids at my school had them. And b., it's metal & wires on your teeth, people will see them no matter what lol

I always asked for wires instead of bands, I loved it- wore them strong for 8 years like that

i always picked grey because it was neutral and didnt stain. plus, it made my teeth appear slightly whiter without the extreme contrast like the color black.

honestly felt like teal was one of the best colors, made the teeth appear whiter and brighter then most colors, lime green also wasnt to bad & so werent the darker colors such as black, navy, etc. but teal was by far my personal go too, now I just have retainers lol. I feel like with the contrast of the black against the teeth it made them appear less white compared to the teal. oh how I miss my braces now that I don’t have them 😂

I had my use green white and red wires for my Italian heritage. Everybody got a kick out of it, whoever saw them.
