German Christmas markets are world-renowned. We show you what to eat, buy, and try when you visit one. In spite of the coronavirus pandemic, some of Germany’s most beautiful Christmas will be open for business in 2021. We’ve travelled for you to Cologne, Lübeck, and Berlin to sample bratwurst, mulled wine, and marzipan. We also picked up some Christmas tree decorations from the Erzgebirge mountains, took a spin on the ice rink and Ferris wheel, met Father Christmas and – most importantly – captured the festive atmosphere.

To me, the most beautiful Christmas market is the one in Nuremberg (Nürnberg).
It’s so traditional, and the smells of anis and toffee mixed with Glühwein, not to mention next to the famous Cathedral and a few steps from the fortress. .
There is a Toy museum near that square. I’m talking old world handcrafted toys.
Nuremberg is just a 1.5 hr drive up from Munich.

Cologne ( Köln ), Rothenburg, Munich are big too. Especially Cologne and the picturesque grand Cathedral.
Next to the river Rhine.

Just pray that it snows, that seals the Christmas deal ! Bring some cash/cards. Cause the hand made decorations are
gorgeous.

I had visited Christmas Market another West Europe country 3 years ago .
Snow and cold air, but, beautiful Christmas viewing were fabulous .
I had been sick : infection : when I visited Christmas Market, then, it was not enough for fun .
