My mom, an ex profesional runner from Argentina, would always say this: “If you’re feeling really tired on that ball chase, when that one defender is right next to you, wanting the ball as much as you do, and you’re thinking ‘I can’t do this anymore’, also remember, he is also thinking the same thing. It’s that one last push that you need to give to beat that player”

I’m that guy that’s scared of standing out but recently I’ve overcome the mental barrier through meditation. I am one of the best players in my league now

For youth tryouts: Don't refrain from showing your 1v1 attacking skills and don't avoid being a little bit of a ball hog initially. We like to know you can handle yourself and aren't afraid to take players on. Don't just pass the ball 3 feet away because someone else is there. Especially on small fields, we see too many kids just passing the ball away because someone is there. Soccer is a thinking game, we want you to think. By being able to hold the ball, you might see the best pass, not just a pass. Being able to protect the ball, buying yourself time and space, allows you time to think, then make better decisions. And lastly, don't be a jerk, talking to others when the coach is talking or goofing off. Major no-no! And don't complain about others who might keep the ball longer than you want them to. Remember, they are also there to get noticed. Be a good teammate! Have fun!

I have a tryout in one week. I’m nervous but also I’m trying to stay positive and think that it’ll go well because I’ve been practicing and training to stay in shape but sometimes it’s all about your mind. I tend to get intimidated or lack confidence but I’m praying that all these do not interfere my ability to play. Wish me luck

I'm a keeper, didn't make my high school team this year because they already had a ridiculously good goalie. I have to make it next year, since he's gonna be gone, and it'll be my senior year. Thanks for the video, it's really helped me!

Mine are today and I’m just trying to get some tryout tips for it, as I didn’t have too much time to prepare, as they told me on a game I had Saturday, and I just came out of injury. But I’ve been trying my best to prepare, and I did do some light training sessions myself during quarantine and went on daily jogs so I think I’ll be prepared

I’m gonna make it this year. Because I’m determined. I just want them to know that I’m the real deal this year. I’m NOT coming off the bench my whole life. I don’t care if there are high school players on my team.

Tried out for two pro teams in the past two years. The first one I did what you said, play to your position & honestly I would say I did well. But the thing is they weren’t looking for left backs at the time, only left wingers & attacking midfield. The second try out I once again played to my position & if anything I’d say I did even better. There was no way I wasn’t gonna do better, I trained my ass off for that tryout. This tryout was a 3 day trial & I was able to make it to the last day but that’s when I got cut. Also this time I didn’t really get a explanation as to why I got cut, but I’m guessing more than likely it was because I simply just wasn’t good enough for the team. First team was Atlanta United U20, second team was the Birmingham legion.

I used to play rep but then I focused on hockey for some years. Now I am way more into soccer and I am really good. I have improved massively, training and playing every day for the last year. I am trying out for rep again but with a new team in 1 month. Wish me luck.
