I think a 40mm grenade launcher would work for larger dinosaurs, 12 gauge shotguns would suffice for smaller threats.

If a dinosaur's hide is similar to a crocodile, you best bet would be an elephant gun. Slow yes, but max penatration.
oh hell, just look at any weapon in Burt Gummer's rec-room

Even though real life T-Rex’s did not have movement based sight it makes a little sense for the movie because some frogs have movement based sight and in the movie they used frog DNA to plug the gaps of dinosaur DNA.

If security was the top priority, a humvee with a Browning M2 .50 caliber heavy machine gun would probably be ideal for a T-Rex. Mossberg shotguns and AR15 Pattern rifles would definitely be better against dilophosaurs and raptors. At the very least, a .45 caliber handgun should have been issued. This was 1993 and we could argue the age old debate of 9 vs. 45 but if it gets down to handguns it's probably just best to agree that you have bigger problems. All weapons should and could have been outfitted with high powered LED flashlights to break up the advantage that dinosaurs had which would be some way to see in the dark. And the rifles, at this range, and at those speeds, a red dot sight like an Aimpoint would probably have been a solid choice as primary optic against raptors and other fast moving predators. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Finally a legitimate use for military surplus, all the armoured vehicles left over from Iraq are suitable - armoured troop transports like the Australian Bushmaster or the heavier US MRAP could laugh at a T-Rex… they survive being launched skyward by IED's.
And the remote weapons stations are just unfair.

As for firearms, the most pragmatic would be a .50cal Beowulf in a AR-15 pattern rifle.
Designed to stop approaching suicide car bombers, it could one shot a Dinosaur, and can be used on short AR carbines by replacing the upper.
The gun obviously will hold less rounds, but will be just as quick with magazine changes and so forth. And as a added bonus all the toys that fit on a M4/16/AR-15 will still fit. The most useful being a underbarrel shotgun.
A pump action shotgun is very useful, because it can be loaded with dragonsbreath ammo - that creates a jet of flame that is between 30 and 90 metres at 1, 660 °C to 2, 204 °C [that's 100 to 300 feet at between 3, 000 °F to 4000 °F in c̶h̶e̶a̶p̶ freedom units].

That would panic any Dinosaur, but it may be unnecessary as a basic flash bang stun grenade will see one off - having very sensitive senses does have a disadvantage [ever been next to someone with a head cold when sewage backs up?, or had earplugs in when Nickleback comes on?].

So perhaps the overt militarization of American police is a precaution against a mass Dinosaur incident.?

That does _Unfortunately_ lead the conspiracy theory that attempts to defund the Police and turn them away from being a paramilitary force could be the plan of the underground Lizard People, to prepare for the Dino invasion *[*endgame 2020]*

But remember, if all else fails, *the one surefire tactic* is to …

_OPEN THE DOOR_
_GET ON THE FLOOR_
_EVERYBODY WALK THE DINOSAUR._

Shotguns are by far the best weapon to have in the emergency supplies on a Jurassic park jeep.
They are incredibly versatile due to the variety of ammunition they can shoot. They could have custom rounds specifically designed for each of the major predators.

To be realistic, even humans can outrun most dinosaurs… they were a _lot_ slower than modern equivalents and didn't have the endurance.
And as for Velociraptors, they weighed about 33lb (15kg) at most, and were the size of a large Turkey - _and they may have had some feathers._ They would have at most tackled prey twice their weight, which puts the average American far outside that range (some far, far outside that weight range).

A good solid kick with a steel toed boot would be a hazard to them, and as for a club of some kind…

A fit human could kite a dinosaur, and our stamina would be much higher.
Of course that is a *fit* human, who wouldn't be at the top of the American weight range…

For vehicles. At least for staff, MRAPs or up armored Humvees (although I think the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Armored vehicle would beat the Humvee)
Stryker Infantry Fighting Vehicle.
Firearms:
Long guns: Barrett 50 cal, or 338 Lapua rifle. You want rounds that will punch through walls or armor and then go off to deal with Dino hide.
If you need a more usable rifle, then look at rounds used for Cape Water Buffalo 416 either in Rigby or Remington Magnum. Any .400 bore or larger will be more than adequate for dangerous game hunting; .404 Jeffery, .470 Nitro, .458 WM or Lott
Backup Handgun: ammunition 454 Casull, .460 S&W Mag., .480 Ruger, .475 Linebaugh, .500 JRH, .500 S&W Magnum and the ubiquitous .45-70 Government, shot from a large frame Smith and Wesson, ruger super redhawk, Magnum Research BFR (big frame (f-Ing) revolvers, freedom arms. These are all revolvers, most are single action. I left off the Taurus raging bull and single shot break actions, because if you are down to having to use you handgun on a Dino, you want a reliable gun, and more than one round in the chamber...

Ironically, the Real Life T-Rex was really only 'fast' in the open. If you wanted to fight a T-Rex and win you would need to lure it into a dense forest or jungle in which it would have a far more difficult time moving at a 'high' speed. A body that big can't just move through heavy tree-cover very easily, so even if you did not have a firearm you could, at least theoretically, deal with it via melee. If you just wanted to get away, go for it's massive jugular or go for it's tendons in its legs and feet.

In the jurassic park survival pack you should have but not limited to:
Satellite phones
Walkie talkies
Rope climbing gear
Hatchets and sharpening stones
Knifes and 2 machetes to cut leafs and branches off trees
Smoke bombs to confuse the dinos
A gas mask in-case you encounter the dilophasaurs!
A colt piece maker and ammo belts because its a great quality handgun and it's sweet to use, also a shotgun and a flare gun to call for help
And camo paint and a glider!
