In real life, Sultan Mehmed III got pregnant one of his father's Sultan Murad III concubines. Nurbanu Sultana had to intervene and destroy all trails despite hating the mother of her grandson Safiye Sultan. She also loved her grandson. There was also tension between Murad and Mehmed because Safiye was banished to The Old Palace, but after Nurbanu's death Safiye returned and became even more powerful than ever.
