Note regarding waiting for the vendor restock, you do not need to wait 48 (UT) hours, you need to wait for 2 UT midnights to pass, so anywhere from 25 to 48 hours, and given that 24 Neon hours is 35 UT hours, many times you won’t even need a second rest. Just to save you all a bit of time.

I noticed if you Manipulate Jake with the neuroamp, "steal" becomes "Take" and no alarm is raised at all.

if you're already in jemison you don't need to go to wolf, just go to the trade authority in the well to sell and buy it back

You can steal anything in plain sight using the Void Form power. Enter Void Form, enter sneak and steal the item.

PS. Any action besides movement breaks Void Form, even opening doors. So you only get 1 action from stealth.

If you pop "void form" and sneak, you can just grab jake's shotgun without any hassle.

You don't have to go to The Den to fence stolen goods, any Trade Authority vendor will do, even the one in The Well. The Den is the best place to sell contraband, though, as UC doesn't scan your ship in the Wolf system.

You can steal things without getting caught by having two pieces of armor with the chameleon affect and just sneak and stay still while you steal

Early on you can get the Disassembler version during the side mission "The Mantis". Since that day I always kept that thing around for dealing with robots. 😎
Lately I tend to use the Advanced versions of the Orion (with Fire Lasers) and Magpulse (Depleted Uranium Rounds). And of course if I wanna get rowdy I use the Advanced Coachman with Hornets Nest... 😁🤟
