CRISPR: Rewriting Humanity

Показать описание
CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing is REWRITING what it means to be human.
In 2012, Virginijus Šikšnys, Jennifer Doudna, Emmanuelle Charpentier, and other scientists proved that CRISPR/Cas9 could be “programmed” to cut DNA at ANY location. This technology enables scientists to modify the human genome, cutting genes and pasting new ones wherever they wish.
In this video, I’ll present this complex system as it truly is at its core: beautifully simple. Furthermore, I’ll discuss the implications this revolutionary technology holds for humanity, and specifically, how CRISPR/Cas9 is being used to develop cures to debilitating diseases.
