Nell and Simon have invited their closest friends to join their family for Christmas dinner at their idyllic home in the English countryside. even though I'd checked the trailer prior to watching the movie itself, I had zero idea what to expect. it turned out to be unpredictable, fun and sad at the same time, with phenomenal acting and few topics to think about really seriously. what I also enjoyed here was Matthew's and Keira's English - pure music to my ears! all in all, this is a GREAT movie, and I don't understand the bad ratings I encounter..

To anyone that enjoyed this movie and the overall vibe (especially those who enjoyed Matthew Goode's performance and the beautiful visuals of this sort of movie but want to see something with a little more flair) - I highly suggest the movie "Stoker" with Matthew Goode and Nicole Kidman. It widely flew under the radar when it came out some years back but it's a beautifully shot drama with a bit of suspense and a tiny bit of neo-thriller thrown in for good measure. Highly recommend it.

The disturbing thing about this movie is how casual it plays out and i think its going to shock some who watch this movie without knowing what to expect, the messages in the movie do leave you thinking about family, friendship and blind trust in the higher powers.
