Many many men (I have noticed much more than women) have been in relationships and then get famous or maybe already famous, but get that BIG break, that household name break and all of a sudden they get divorced from their high school sweetheart or the woman who held it down and watched him build this career and was there in the way up. It seems kinda messed up. But I have no idea what it’s like in Hollywood. Perhaps it’s hard when you are at an A list actor level, it’s hard to even have common ground with your non celeb spouse. Or they now have many fans and even celebs tryin to talk to them or catching their eye now? Who knows? It may be something else, but this is quite common actually.

I think they actually met when they were 14 years old, not 17. I read somewhere else a quote by his wife saying that when she watched the pilot for "The Bear, " she was excited that the world would finally get to see what she had known since she first saw him in acting class at age 14. So maybe they met in an acting class before they made their first film together three years later.

wow ppl are cynical geez you ever think that maybe, just maybe they grew apart?? it had nothing to do with his star rising and him just wanting to leave her behind?? I mean he was on Shameless for 11 yrs, then he's on The Bear, movies, maybe with all the filming he was doing he was away from home more than he was home and they realized it just wasn't working, she needed more. There doesn't have to be some big conspiracy behind it all, ppl divorce, it's life...doesn't mean either one was at fault, it just didn't work
