Microsoft DROPS Huge News | Xbox To BUY More Studios After Activision Blizzard | Xbox & PS5 News

Microsoft has been on a buying spree as of late when it comes to new studios and publishers. From Bethesda to Activision Blizzard Xbox is going to lock down new studios to help push Xbox Game Pass to new heights.

But it's looking like Xbox isn't going to stop trying to get new Xbox Series X exclusive games. Instead Phil Spencer says they'll try to get new studios and deals done even with Activision Blizzard happening. This might come as a shock to Sony PlayStation 5 fans who are on the outside looking in at Microsofts big moves in the gaming market.

Let's hope that what Phil Spencer is saying is true, because the competition between the Xbox Series X and the PS5 is only going to get more intense as the next gen consoles move forward.

Are you surprised that Xbox is going to buy new studios after this big Activision Blizzard deal?

After the Activision|Blizzard deal closes, I can definitely see Microsoft/XBOX going out and acquiring EA, Capcom, SEGA, or WB. Those are my top picks for future acquisitions.

I could see this happening Microsoft has deep pockets unlike Sony

This is why I believe in Microsoft more than Sony. Being able to play games on PC and Xbox with cross save and cross play is the future.

I guess Microsoft isn’t done buying studios. Damn this isn’t last generation when MS was getting curb stomped this generation is going to be a different story.

Just say Don Mattrick almost killed Xbox! It’s not a lie. Phil Spencer saved it.

I have a feeling that Xbox and Microsoft are going through a acquisition phase then once that's done just continually pump out games

Capcom, Konami's game division, SEGA, WB, Platinum, Atlus etc any of these would be good

WB Games, Asobo Studios, and Cold Symmetry, and the people who did The Darkness.

I’d love to see MS focus on acquiring smaller studios/developers (smaller than Bethesda, at least) like Asobo or Focus Entertainment (most of their games are already on Game Pass) or Mistwalker and possibly remake or remaster XB360 JRPGs like Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon.

I wish Microsoft would clean up whatever issues are going on with 343 and Halo Infinite while they were working on acquiring more studios. You'd think they would make sure the house in charge of their biggest IP wasn't in the state it's currently on, Infinite included. Though The MCC seems to finally be in a good place.

If Xbox gets Capcom, I think MH will be a flagship series on XO, hell they'll probably make the games crossplay. I also want them to get Square Enix.

I realize Microsoft has little incentive to release a gamepass app on steam os for the steam deck but I'd like to see it happen with cross save

Sony getting Sega would make it a lot easier to put Sonic, Crash, Spyro, and Banjo in a crossover

Good for them doing what Sony has been doing for decades, making Xbox exclusives.

I'm currently playing Batman Arkham Knight, in anticipation of Gotham Knights.

On another note. After the Activision/Blizzard deal is done. I'm hoping MS will put up enough money to buy a large enough portion of From Software. Because I don't trust that Sony won't force them to become platform exclusive.

I do have a ps5. But I'd rather play them on my Xbox.

Food for Thought:

After this Microsoft & Xbox will have so much experience from ABK that it'll make future Smaller yet still Big Publishers ($8-15 Billion Range) much easier to get and same for any other big ones the size of ABK in future
