Reset your MySQL password on Windows PC without requiring the old password. Success rate - 100%

Hello and Welcome to my channel! I'm CA and today I'm gonna show you how to reset your MySQL password if you have forgot it or was not prompted to setup it up while installing.
You don't need to remember the old password for this fix!

*Facing problems?*





*Additional note on SQL Version* -

For MySQL version *5.7.5 and earlier*, the method demonstrated in the video won't work.

For that, in the *reset.txt* file, write
*SET PASSWORD FOR 'root'@'localhost' = PASSWORD('MyNewPass');*
Replace *MyNewPass* with your desired password.
The remaining steps are same.



*Uninstalled MySQL?*




*MySQL closes on entering password?*


This means that the password you are entering is incorrect..

Possible solutions:

1. Passwords are Case-sensitive. So make sure to check capslock and numlock on your keyboard while entering password.

2. Check the reset.txt for the password that you've set.. enter that same password in the mysql cmd client.

3. Make sure that you've stopped the mysql service first, like I've done in the video.. if u skip this, your password won't reset.

4. Check that the reset.txt has exact same thing that I've shown in the video. A small mistake can also prevent the resetting process to fail.

5. If these dont work, watch the video from start to end without skipping.. possibly you might have missed a few steps and details..

If you get an error while doing the steps, or you face any problems, please recheck all the commamds, all the steps and everything in the video thoroughly!
There can be a small unnoticeable error which might cost you hell lot of your brain cells!
