Would you install one of the kits from V-Twin Manufacturing or go with one from FuelMoto or S&S?

I personally think that unless you're going all out racing, that these budget kits are definitely the way to go. It's like you said, save some money for cams or quite possibly some head work!

Those Fuel Moto Woods 98" kits for the 88" TC are making huge power. Even with stock heads on the 2006 bikes. Of course, it's $2k but damn.

My main priority is durability under good/decent performance demands… I’m a pretty mild soul, when it comes to riding style… so what I look for in kits and rebuilds, is getting it to LAAAST. Great info on kits. Thank you!

I have a 96” with 60, 000 miles. It runs strong and I’m happy with it at stage one for the type of riding I do. Would it be smart to add a lot of power and compression to a motor with my miles? Also, would a 103 kit extend the life of my motor?

Great vid!!! Love this stuff. The numbers are fabulous and so cheap. 110 kit. Very cheap.
I didn’t know that the option of 96 - 110 existed. I have a 103 and you have me thinking.

I got a budget kit with the Wiseco forged 10.5:1 Pistons. The jugs were 55 mile dealer takeoffs that were locally bored at a machine shop here in Amarillo Texas. I got it all for $700. Wet a little expensive on the feuling cam plate assembly and 543 Reaper conversion cams. Also got the Dynojet Power Vision to help tune.

I did it even cheaper.
All I did on my 103 was take the heads off and sent to zippers for most mild cnc job they do. Called the 1.8 cnc. It gets a 1.850 intake valve &1.610 EX VALVE. 699$.
Then bolt it back together with.030 cometic head gasket. The head deck & gasket brought it up to 10.2:1 compression. 38$ for gaskets. Already had the Andrews 57h cams & power vision.
So for 737.00 $ doing it myself using the stock flat tops got 108 hp & 116 TQ. Not bad ?

Love how quiet the twin cam is when still with chain. Think I’ve got leaky valve seal on front. But still runs so smooth.

Your videos are very easy to follow, and good info.. I had looked into big bore upgrades, but Im not an FWO rider, and want longevity with my TC88. Ive only got 11k on it and the S&S 509g complete camchest upgrade is being finished up in 3 days. That should make it bulletproof ! If I get a wild hair, my mechanic wants to stick an S&S 131ci in it, and call it a day. lol The TC88 w/ 509g dyno sheets I saw, were absolutely righteous, for my riding style. Im an average sized guy, and think this bike is my keeper. Ive had a honda and 4 Harleys before this bike on the street, and 6 dirt bikes, before that. Its time to just enjoy riding.

Do I need to counterbore my 96' crankcase to fit the 110' big bore cylinders, or do they just drop on as is?

I just did a 88" to 95." Flat top Harley pistons. I believe 9.3 comp. I put in S&S 509 cams. .030 head gaskets, stock heads, and a tune. I'm at 76hp. 92ft# torque. How much compression can I run with the 509 cams? I like the performance gains I have now, but I feel now I should have went with higher compression pistons. Possibly boring to 98" I am definitely running cooler oil temps now and average 45mpg. Thanks for your input. I appreciate your knowledge.

Doing the whole top and only in that shoe a small amount compared to other stuff you can do to get that same amount and more. I don’t think you need to go past the stage two if it’s done right. I’m at 79 horse and 115 foot pound of torque.with big air Thundermax programmer.full cobra exhaust
