little piece of advice - if you want to see most of munich : dont take the u-bahn or the s-bahn (unless strictly necessary), because they are mostly underground, take the tram ! you almost get everywhere with it, and you see a lot of the city !

An addition to the dress tips: Afternoon or evening thunderstorms can happen any day in summer, even if it’s not in the daily forecast (caused by the geographic situation with the mountains close by in the south). It’s always a good idea to carry a small pocket umbrella and/or rain jacket you can stuff in your bag.
Also watch rain radar apps towards the afternoon, the thunderstorms will usually form south west of the city and move in north east direction.

To be fair, while Memmingen airport is 90 minutes from Munich, the main Munich airport itself is 45 minutes from downtown.
